Virginia Mason Hospital was founded in 1920. By this time, the hospital has 80 beds and six physician offices. The center was named after John M Blackford and James Tate Mason’s daughters. These jointly founded the clinic with Maurice Dwyer (radiologist). It was established with a mission of providing a place that would offer comprehensive healthcare to patients under one roof.
